We have real issues, some of them really urgent and yet the presidential campaign is focused primarily on foolishness.
He likes a nationalized-single-payer health-care system. “It works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland. It could have worked." He is the only republican capable of speaking this particular truth.
Paul disagrees, saying that Trump was on 'the wrong side of everybody by praising a single-payer system'... yes, everybody except the citizens, the taxpayers.
Or, maybe he wants to secede from the union? That might be best for the rest of us. According to Jim Hightower, "under Rickonomics, Texas has added more minimum wage jobs than all other states combined! After 10 years in office, Gov. Perry presides over a state that has more people in poverty and more without health coverage than any other.”
Congress is in recess as members of that group are theoretically at home to consult with their constituency, however that only applies to those able to donate huge dollar amounts to their campaigns.
It is a chance, however, for locals to protest locally. We should take advantage of this opportunity to be abused by the home-town police in our own state rather than having to travel to Washington D.C. to protest and to be beaten and arrested there.
