The Fossil Fuel Era is over, just another chapter in the history of energy usage by humans on planet Earth. Just as once upon a time, human muscle power was the standard energy to accomplish human goals, oil had it's place in that history along with animal power, burning wood and coal. Nuclear energy made a show along with other forms of energy.
As humans have moved forward and the limits of the Earth to absorb the negative consequences of fossil fuels became more and more evident, we are turning the page and coming to renewables.
Saudi Arabia is waging an illegal war on Yemen, which is in violation of international humanitarian laws, again with support of their 'best friend'. All of this benefits 'our' enemy, al-Qaeda just as the war on Syria has benefited Qaeda in Syria. Additionally, Saudi Arabia wants a jihad against Damascus, Tehran and Moscow. How far can the United States go in supporting stupidity, internally and externally?
Because we are still addicted to oil, and because Saudi Arabia is still our 'best friend' in the middle east, we cannot recognize who our enemies are nor can we actually identify our friends.
Everyone can see the end of oil but so far, we haven't figured out how to make a peaceful transition to the inevitable future of renewables.
Just as the countries with oil reserves will become desperate to maintain the present, those corporations. the oil giants will not give up their wealth easily. We can expect extreme measures from them as well.
