These toys that we refer to as tools are a waste in every aspect. The use of the natural resources necessary for the manufacture of these things is immense. This involves not only the raw materials used to create the thing, but also the manufacturing equipment necessary for its creation. And it also includes the transportation required to get it to 'market' which is a waste of fuel. Not to mention the trucks and rail cars used for this frivolous venture. There is also the 'shelf space' for display which requires the building and then there's the shopping mall itself. All for consumerism... all to facilitate our having this thing. All of this to deliver this shiny new device which is designed to do nothing of value. It gives the illusion of ease and convenience. In truth it is usually replacing something that had functioned previously to accomplish the very same task very well.
Leaf blowers, among other things, fall into this category.
