The current president of the United States (most powerful nation in the world) appears as a speaker for his first time before the General Assembly. As an appropriate euphemism to describe Trump's speech, it could be said that he 'dropped a bomb'.
Trump threatened North Korea with "total" destruction and he proposed using the "military option" in Venezuela.
Venezuela and North Korea are on opposite sides of the globe. The world has already witnessed the total destruction of North Korea at the hands of the United States. The world has frequently witnessed the United States using the military option, virtually everywhere. Trump's words cannot be taken as idle threats. In fact, the world is collectively and nervously waiting and hoping for common sense to creep into the American consciousness and to influence American foreign policy in lieu of creating more mass destruction, which is the American habit.
"The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented," he said, ignoring the many problems in Venezuela created intentionally by the United States.
In reality, the history of relations between Korea and the United States require that North Korea prepare itself to do everything and anything it can to defend itself from the 'fire and fury' of the United States. Developing a nuclear arsenal appears to their only hope.
American citizens should study history and be aware of those things 'we' do around the world. The American people must understand that 'our' actions present a very pathetic pattern to the world. North Korea and Venezuela are not the only countries in our 'cross-hairs'. In his United Nations speech, Trump also pointed at Iran.
“The ignorant, absurd and hateful rhetoric filled with ridiculously baseless allegations that was uttered before this august body was not only unfit to be heard at the United Nations,” he said, “but indeed contradicted the demands of our nations from this world body to bring governments together to combat war and terror.”
